Horseridingcoach.com’s comprehensive TRAINING SYSTEM for Horse Riding Instructors

How does the Instructor Training System work?

The TRAINING SYSTEM for Riding Instructors is divided in Building Blocks. Each Building block consists of units, which are made up of Topics or parts of Topics. The base course is the Cerificate III in Sport (Coaching) Equestrian.

Building Block 1:
Horse Mastership: Safety and Horse Management

Building Block 2:
Beginning to Teach: Teaching methods, Selection of Horses, Legal issues and Teaching beginner riders

Building Block 3:
Teaching Basic Riding Skills and “Running the Show”: Lungeing the rider, Teaching the Beginner, Business practices to run your own business or an equestrian centre.

After Building Blocks 1, 2 and 3 you have reached Certificate III and you are eligible for INSURANCE allowing you to teach ANYONE without membership or limitations or set up a your own small business.

You can add further electives:

Building Block 4:
Teaching Intermediate Riding Skills: Teaching intermediate skills on the flat, over jumps and cross country.

Use Building Block 4 to add to your knowledge and enlarge your student base beyond basics, once you are already teaching.

Building Block 5:
Trail Ride Instructor: Conducting Trailrides

Centrelink approved courses:
Certificate III in Sport (Coaching) Equestrian (Building Blocks 1-3) and Certificate IV in Sport (Coaching) Equestrian (Building Blocks 1-4) are Nationally Accepted Career Qualifications.

Building Blocks can also be used for:
AHRC Level I Recreational (Building Blocks 1-4 and Building Block 5)
AHRC Level I Trail Ride (Building Blocks 1-3 and Building Block 5)
EFA Introductory (Building Blocks 1-3) & EFA Level I (Building Blocks 1-4)

We cannot provide you with the above qualifications. Only the relevant organisation can do that. You will need to become a member and follow their study guides.

Bert & Marion Hartog have developed the syllabus and the study guide of the AHRC Level I Recreational and AHRC Level I Trail Ride. Marion has been the National Coaching Coordinator of the AHRC for more than ten years.

It is a fact that Bert and Marion sold the Assessment Guide they developed for the Certificate III and IV to the EFA in 2003. With the help of horseridingcoach.com’s assessment guide they developed their new introductory coaching qualifications.

Horseridingcoach.com has been leading the way!

So clearly, what we CAN do is provide you with all the in-depth theory and after assessment we can transfer our signatures to the study guides where possible.

Just imagine all the theory information and explanations in one document including support DVDs WITH as much email or telephone support as you need.

You can’t do better than that!
